Vicki Irwin, L. Ac., Dipl. Ac.(NCCAOM)®
Vicki has been practicing in the healthcare field for over 20 years. Starting her career with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, she worked in the field for 15 years where she gained experience in medical, surgical, oncology (cancer), in-patient hospice care, and most recently in obstetrics and delivery. While Vicki had a wonderful career in nursing, she started to realize it was not a perfect fit for her.
Vicki’s draw to acupuncture happened almost upon accident. About ten years ago she found herself skeptical, sitting in the office of an acupuncturist for her own personal health issues that her doctors had been unable to manage well. She had decided to make the appointment as a last resort before a surgery she did not want to have. A year after receiving acupuncture, she no long required surgery, was off all of her medication, and had felt better than she had in a decade. This, Vicki describes, was the missing piece was for her personally and professionally which led her to study acupuncture.
In 2011, Vicki acquired a Master’s Degree in Chinese Acupuncture Studies from the New England School of Acupuncture. Since then she has specialized becoming a Diplomate in Acupuncture with The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Vicki has prioritized safety in her practice by passing a National Clean Needle technique course. She is also a member of the NH Acupuncture and Asian Medicine Association.
Today Vicki maintains her NH State Acupuncture License as well as her license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Massachusetts. Most of all today she loves being able to integrate her nursing experience into her acupuncture practice.
Candice Trudel, MS, HNC, AHC
Candice grew up in Lowell, MA and received her Master’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences and Nutritional Sciences from The University of Massachusetts. While at UMass Lowell, Candice began working in nutrition research and was published in 2010. From there she was also able to work as a toxicologist for the Mayoclinic. While these were both rewarding occupations, Candice, like so many in alternative medicine, found her vocation through a personal experience.
It was during her time at the Mayo clinic that Candice was fighting her own battle with Lyme disease. After seeing a number of medical specialists and not having any success, she began to look into alternative medicine for the answer. Through a combination of nutritional therapies, Candice was able to alleviate the symptoms of her Lyme rather than try to mask them. This journey inspired her endeavor to become a holistic nutritionist and Ayurvedic health counselor. She achieved her second Master’s Degree in Holistic Nutrition from The American College of Healthcare Sciences in Portland, OR.
What sets Candice apart is her ability to bridge nutrition with Ayurvedic medicine. Candice received her training in Ayurveda at the Kripalu School of Yoga and Ayurveda. She also teaches yoga and received a 500 hour Hatha Yoga Certificate from Raja Yoga Academy. Among her many accomplishments Candice is also trained as a post-partum Doula and is passionate about nutrition for infertility, pregnancy and the often overlooked post-partum nutrition.
Candice is a member of the National Association of Nutrition Professionals, the National Ayurvedic Medical Association, DONA International, and Yoga Alliance.
